Can I monitor my children's hotmail and other web-based email accounts?
At present, you can see everything your child types by checking your logs.
ILP is currently working on building relationships with companies such as Hotmail (Microsoft), Yahoo and Google to allow ILP to quickly and legitimately access and monitor their services to protect your child online.
Please regularly update your ILP software as this will give you the latest features as they are launched.
How does ILP monitor my child's chats?
At present the technology for some instant messaging programmes allows us to monitor both sides of the conversation and for some it does not.
You can always see your child's side of the conversation in your logs.
I keep seeing a pop-up in Outlook that tells me a program is looking at my e-mails? Should I grant access?
ILP has been installed with invisibility in mind. In this situation however, the team at ILP decided it would highlight ILP to deter all inappropriate behaviour within the e-mail program.
So the answer is "yes" to allowing ILP to look at e-mails. We are always keen to get feedback from parents regarding this and other features, see the 'Help us make In Loco Parentis even better' section of the parents' forum on how to become a guest member of the ILP development team!
Can I monitor different people
You can monitor different email accounts and see everything that anyone types on your PC while ILP is running.
How do I uninstall ILP
You will need your password and on the administration go to Help and click on 'Uninstall ILP'.
Does it work on Macs
At present, ILP only works on PCs. We will launch a Mac version shortly.
